Partners with Georgia Tech
The Music Education Group (MEG) partners with Georgia Tech to deliver the Career and Coding Academy in schools, using the innovative EarSketch curriculum. This program engages students by exploring the intersection of music and technology, introducing them to coding as it applies to creative fields. By blending these disciplines, the program opens up new career possibilities for students in both music and coding, giving them a unique perspective on how technology drives creativity in the modern world.
EarSketch, developed by Georgia Tech, has been used by over 1,000,000 students across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 180 countries worldwide. It’s a versatile program that has been implemented in summer camps, afterschool programs, and academic courses such as Computer Science Principles. While it’s primarily used at the high school level, EarSketch has proven successful in elementary, middle school, and even college settings, making it a flexible tool for engaging students of all ages in coding and music.
MEG collaborates with Georgia Tech to identify schools that are interested in integrating STEAM and coding programs into their curriculum. Once partner schools are identified, Georgia Tech provides teachers with the necessary training and resources to implement the program effectively. The Career and Coding Academy crosses multiple disciplines, including math, music, and technology, giving students a well-rounded educational experience while preparing them for future careers in creative and technical fields.
