MEG’s Distance Learning initiative
The MEG Student Engineer Program was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of MEG’s Distance Learning initiative to support students pursuing careers in the creative services industries. Selected students receive a full in-home sound recording studio along with specialized, product-specific training. This program aims to bridge the technology gap, ensuring that students, particularly those in underserved communities, have access to the tools and skills necessary to compete for technology-based jobs in Georgia’s growing creative services sector.
This intensive workforce development program is designed for a limited cohort of 10 students at a time. Participants engage in immersive, hands-on experiences that prepare them for real-world careers in fields like audio engineering, music production, and digital media. By focusing on practical training, the program equips students with the skills they need to succeed in the rapidly evolving landscape of Georgia’s creative industries.
Through the MEG Student Engineer Program, students are not only given the technical expertise they need to excel but are also empowered to become part of Atlanta’s dynamic workforce. By developing these critical skills, students are poised to step directly into technology-based roles that are increasingly in demand, helping to strengthen Georgia’s creative economy while advancing their own career prospects.
